Steroids- Their Effects And How They Work In Our Body?

Every individual wants to look attractive and appealing. Being in the best shape you can possibly have, is not only a confidence booster, but also helps the person in being fit, both physically and mentally. How fit you can be depends on your genes. By this, we mean that your height, the way your body will metabolise the supplements you take, all depends on the genes that you have inherited. But what we can do is that make sure we are able to reach our full potential by working hard and dedicating ourselves to the task of becoming fully fit. There are many products which are now available in the market which aid us in becoming fit. These range from the equipment we work on to the food we are provided. Many food products are available nowadays which help people in becoming a better version of them. Steroids are one such supplement that is taken by many. They exert powerful effects.

Steroids are organic compounds which are produced in the adrenal glands of human beings. They affect wide range of metabolic functions of the body. These functions may include immune response, stress response, metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates and many more. Steroids are used in the treatment of many ailments too.  The conditions in which steroids are used range from skin diseases to brain tumour. Allergy, angioedema, sarcoidiosis and many more such diseases are treated by using steroids. The synthesis of steroids in the body takes place with the help of cholesterol. We humans thus need to take a sufficient amount of cholesterol to cater to the needs of the body in synthesising steroids. The steroids exert powerful effects on the bodily functions and one has to ensure that he does not take great amounts of steroid in order to become bulky.

Steroids

Steroids have always been known to make the person consuming them, more muscular. The power of a person consuming steroids, increases manifold too. One should also understand that there is a difference between anabolic steroids and corticosteroids. The anabolic steroids that are abuse by the athletes are synthetic version of testosterone, which is a male sex hormone. Without a doctor’s prescription present, it is illegal to buy, sell or possess steroids. There are many adverse effects of using anabolic steroids and the athletes are thus advised never to use them in increasing their performance. There are many side effects of steroids which are not easily seen within the first 1 or 2 months. But once these effects start to take shape, there is nothing but remorse left on behalf of the person who started consuming them.

Men who consume anabolic steroids get painful erections, develop breasts, become infertile, have their testis shrink, and may even become impotent. Same applies for women too. The women who consume anabolic steroids are seen to grow facial hair and body hair, their voices get deep; have an unusually enlarged clitoris have reduced breast size and experience menstrual irregularities. The common effects of taking steroids that affect both genders are getting acne, get yellowing of the skin which can be perceived as jaundice, have their tendons ruptured and may fly into rages after getting mood swings. So in this manner, taking anabolic steroids has many severe adverse effects which can make it difficult for the person to cope up with them. If you want a ripped body, then the best way is to work hard for it and get to the top on your own. That is one of the best feelings.
